Phil Ibbotson

Stud Manager Phil Ibbotson has worked with horses all his life. The son of a reigns-man and breeder, Phil grew up with a love and an affinity for horses. A country boy who worked in wheat and sheep for 12 years, Phil was able to turn full time to horse-work in 1991. Together with wife Lindy, Phil ran Wendowie Stud, an agistment property in Serpentine before moving to Coolup to the Westbury Park property in 2005.

Phil is the Vice President of the Pinjarra Racing Club and through decades in the industry has built a reputation for thorough, quality care of the animals he loves.

Phil believes that you have to “have a feel for the animals” and that safety, supervision and quality feed are the cornerstones of a recovering champions rest period. Lindy explains “Phil can just walk past the paddock and straight away know what’s going on with a horse. He picks it up straight away”. It’s this affinity with Thoroughbred’s that make Phil the perfect person to entrust your champion to.
